The short version
- Don't use Harner, your bots, or apps on harner.app to break the law or to harm, deceive, spam or attack anyone.
- Your bots and your apps are yours: what they do counts as what you do.
- Report abuse to abuse@harner.dev. We can take an app down and suspend bots or accounts that break these rules.
This policy is part of the Terms of Service. It applies to you, to the members of your workspaces, to the bots you run, and to every page and app published at an address under harner.app. When we say “you”, we include your bots and apps.
You are responsible for your bots and apps
Bots act on instructions and can keep working when nobody is watching. Give them instructions, access and limits you would be comfortable answering for. If a bot starts doing something it should not, stop it. You can pause or delete it at any time.
What is not allowed
Illegal and harmful content
- Anything illegal where you are, or in Türkiye, where Harner is run.
- Child sexual abuse material, or any sexual content involving minors. We remove it, close the account and report it to the authorities.
- Sexual or intimate images of a real person shared without their consent. This includes fakes.
- Threats, harassment, stalking, or content that incites violence or hatred against people for who they are.
- Content that promotes terrorism or violent extremism.
- Help making biological, chemical, nuclear or radiological weapons, or other weapons meant to cause mass harm.
Deception and fraud
- Phishing, or pages that imitate someone else's sign-in, payment or brand to collect passwords, card numbers or other secrets.
- Scams, fake reviews, fake invoices or receipts, and other fraud.
- Pretending to be a real person or organisation without their permission. A bot must not hide that it is a bot when someone sincerely asks, or when the law requires it to say so.
- Disinformation campaigns, or manipulating elections or public debate. This includes using many fake accounts.
Spam and misuse of other services
- Unsolicited bulk email or messages, and email to people who have not agreed to receive it. Emails your bots send must follow anti-spam law and identify the sender.
- Breaking the terms of websites and services your bots use, for example by getting round their rate limits, CAPTCHAs or bot rules. Scraping that overloads a site also counts.
- Signing a bot in to accounts you are not allowed to use, or sharing accounts in ways the service forbids.
The phone browser
- Using the phone browser in the Harner mobile app, or a bot you let use it, as a proxy or a scraper: for example to send traffic through your phone's connection, to get round a site's limits or blocks, or to collect data from sites in bulk.
- Letting a bot act in the phone browser on someone else's account.
Attacks and abuse of Harner
- Malware, ransomware, spyware, or code meant to damage or take over systems.
- Scanning, probing or attacking systems you do not own or have permission to test. This includes denial-of-service attacks.
- Trying to get out of a bot's container, reach other customers' data, or get round Harner's limits, billing or security.
- Cryptocurrency mining, or using Harner as a proxy, VPN or open relay.
- Creating accounts to get round a suspension, a waitlist, or usage limits.
- Reselling Harner or offering it to others as your own service without our written agreement.
Privacy and other people's rights
- Collecting, profiling or publishing personal data about people without a lawful basis. Doxxing and covert surveillance are examples.
- Processing special categories of personal data, such as health, biometric or religious data, without a lawful basis and appropriate safeguards.
- Infringing copyright, trademarks or other rights, or publishing someone's confidential information.
- Using a bot alone to make decisions about people that seriously affect them, without a person reviewing them. Examples are hiring, credit, housing, insurance and access to services.
Model providers have their own usage policies, and those apply to what your bots ask their models to do.
Apps on harner.app
Your bots can publish pages and apps at addresses under harner.app. They are private until you share them. Some apps are public. Every visitor sees a harner.app address and may assume Harner vouches for it, so these extra rules apply:
- Say who runs the app if it collects anything from its visitors. You are responsible for their personal data, including telling them how you use it.
- Do not ask visitors for passwords to other services, card numbers or government identifiers, unless the app clearly and truthfully explains why it needs them.
- Do not use Harner's name or look in a way that suggests Harner made or endorses your app.
- Do not use an app to host malware, to serve files for phishing, or to redirect people to harmful sites.
- Keep an app's load reasonable. An app that harms the service or other apps may be paused.
Security research
We welcome reports from people who find weaknesses in Harner. If you test in good faith and follow these rules, we will not take legal action against you for it:
- Test only with your own account, bots and apps. Do not access, change or delete other people's data. If you reach someone else's data by accident, stop and tell us.
- No denial-of-service, spam, social engineering, or physical attacks. Do not test on other people's harner.app apps.
- Report to security@harner.dev with enough detail for us to reproduce it. Give us reasonable time to fix it before you make it public.
Reporting abuse and takedowns
To report a bot, an app or content on Harner, write to abuse@harner.dev. Include:
- the address (URL) or other details that let us find it;
- what the problem is and why it breaks this policy or the law;
- how to reach you, if you want an answer.
For a copyright or trademark complaint, also:
- identify the work or mark;
- show that you own it or act for the owner;
- state that you believe in good faith the use is not allowed.
We review every report. When content is clearly illegal or dangerous, we act at once, for example on child sexual abuse material, phishing or imminent harm. Otherwise we look into it, and usually ask the owner to fix it first. We may tell the owner who reported the problem only if the law requires it or you agree.
What we can do
If something breaks this policy, we may, depending on how serious it is:
- warn you;
- remove content;
- take an app offline or disable its address;
- pause or delete a bot;
- revoke keys or integrations;
- suspend or close a workspace or account.
Where we can, we will tell you what we did and why. Where the law requires it, we report illegal content to the authorities and keep what they need.
If you think we got it wrong, reply to our message or write to support@harner.dev. A person will look at it again. A suspended account can also write through the Help page.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Harner and the ways people misuse services change. We tell you about important changes in the same way as for the Terms of Service. The version and date at the top show which text applies.
